First Impressions - Holes by Louis Sachar

'Sup peoplzz ? I'm Hazar and it's about time I started my assignment which is writing a reading blog about Holes by Louis Sachar. I haven't written a reading blog, or even a simple blog  before (Well, a content stealing music blog doesn't count, does it ?) so please forgive me if I write something stupid.

The cover with the mighty yellow-spotted lizard, if you gey bitten by it: FATALITY !

I guessed that the book would be more like a hardcore literature, based on its name and its cover. I thought it would be about a drought or something. Turns out I'm wrong. The book is a children's book (I'm not saying this as a negative feature, I love children's books :D ) about a chubby boy, Stanley Yelnats, who is sent to Camp Green Lake as a penalty due to a crime he did not commit. As in the first sentence of the book ;"There is no lake at Camp Green Lake". The so called bad boys who got sent there are obligated to dig up holes on the arid land where the lake stood before the heat dried it up. This action would surely turn them in to good boys (sarcasm here). Anyway, the book seems to be fun and the language is simple, this is an exceptionary book assignment, I must say. :D

Here are some questions that came to my mind while reading: 
Why are they making the kids dig up holes, what exactly do they hope to find ?
Why are the nicknames of campers so eccentric and why do the boys seem like they are proud of their nicknames ?
